About Us
Garden City Organics is located in downtown Augusta , Georgia . We offer a full-line of organic garden supplies – everything from seeds, compost, fertilizers, tools, and drip irrigation supplies. Our goal is to meet the needs of home and commercial organic growers. We also feature exotic houseplants, ceramic pottery and work with local artists to provide garden art. We manage 20 beehives in Beech Island , SC for Empire Honey and sell the fresh honey we harvest. We provide seasonal, local, all natural, produce, meat, and dairy goods plus all the tools and references you need to get started growing for yourself.
Kate Lee and Brian Gandy own and operate Garden City Organics . Both Kate and Brian studied horticulture at the University of Georgia and moved to Augusta in the spring of 2008. We opened the store in the September of 2008. After spending one year building and maintaining Blue Clay Farm, they have moved on and currently operate Nutsedge Farm in Beech Island , SC. In June 2009, we launched a Community Supported Agriculture, CSA, produce subscription using all locally grown, all-natural produce, meat, dairy, and specialty items.
We look forward to working on community garden development projects. We also advocate gardening as an educational tool and support schoolyard garden development. We are dedicated to helping Augusta and Central Savannah River Area develop into a greener, more sustainable, region.
